H+O — Butterfly Effect

H+O

— Butterfly Effect

Complex systems evolve unpredictably, and small phenomena can lead to great effects as they grow in impact, size, or matter. With BUTTERFLY EFFECT, H+O founders and curators Elisa Ossino and Josephine Akvama Hoffmeyer explore the concept from a universal perspective, while letting it mirror in our immediate surroundings.

“Today more than ever, it is important to carefully choose the things we surround ourselves with and examine the process that goes into them. The quality of an object has the potential to improve our wellbeing and even create a platform for socializing. Elements like a sculptural chair that combines the useful with the beautiful, a steam oven that prepares healthy food, or the use of colors in our homes can improve our states of mind.” — Elisa Ossino

In a collaborative effort with MUUTO, V-ZUG, TUBES, File Under Pop and Elisa Ossino Studio, H+O is transforming the 18th century apartment gallery in Brera into a sensory environment that reflects human emotions while delicately framing them in scenarios of everyday life. Using furniture, lighting and accessories by MUUTO, the space investigates the impact that elements like colors, texture and shapes can have on our lives. While V-ZUG is offering a sensory experience in the kitchen with flavors that sprout and progress as you experience them, TUBES is adding new perspectives to our perception of heaters in a living space. The common purpose is a desire for creating innovative and explorative interior experiences that go beyond the initial understanding of a space or design. Throughout the apartment gallery, video artists Stefano Roveda and Alessandro Gagliardo present a reworked body of sequences from cult movies with a colorful tint – suggesting how a series of small actions is linked to consequences of pleasure, celebration, or even melancholy.
